Quarter Midgets are the earliest entry to Speedway racing. A competitor (girl or boy) can start once they are the ripe old age of 8 years and can race up until their 16th birthday.
You may think these kids don't have the skills to put on a show at the Springs, but that couldn't be further from the truth when they are lapping at just over 4 seconds slower than the Midget section.
These kids provide some awesome wheel to wheel action and with a field of close to 20 cars, there is always great racing to be seen.
If you look at the drivers on the podium each week from the TQ, Midget and Sprint Car classes, you will see many ex Quarter Midget drivers. So keep an eye on the Kiwi Kidz, for they will be our future champions.
